James Gunn’s Superman is presently in production, creating a lot of hype among fans. The first film in Gunn and Peter Safran’s revamped DC Cinematic Universe, Superman, features David Corenswet as Clark Kent. After teasing a look at Corenswet suited up as the DC Comics superhero, James Gunn has now dropped a picture with other cast members, including Nathan Fillion and Skyler Gisondo. Taking to Instagram, Gunn wrote, “Hanging on the set of #Superman with some of my favorite people.”
None of them were in their respective costumes, but the picture exudes a fresh energy on the sets, as fans can also spot Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald, who may or may not have joined the film yet.
James Gunn Unveils David Corenswet As Superman
Earlier in May, Gunn shared Corenswet’s first-ever look as the Man of Steel. In the picture shared on his Instagram handle, Superman can be seen putting on his boots to deal with another potential threat to Metropolis. One cannot miss the weathered look of the dusty suit, which falls in sync with his serious expression. While his slick hairstyle and look set the tone for the next battle, the highlight was undoubtedly Superman’s iconic red trunks, which were previously missing from Cavill’s suit.
With this role, Corenswet will mark his first major lead role in Hollywood. In the meantime, a dedicated fan page recently dropped glimpses of Kent Farm from Gunn’s Superman movie. In the pictures from the sets, one can spot a red, yellow, and black house.

More About DCU’s Superman
The film will focus on the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent, states in a ComicBook report. Apart from Corenswet, Fillion, and Gisondo, the film will also have Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders, Maria Gabriela de Faria as Angele Spice, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt, and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason.
“Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman’s birthday,” Gunn wrote in an official post earlier this year.
The film is scheduled to release on July 11, 2025.
