Henry Cavill Wore Superman Costume Long Before Man of Steel, His Women's Day Post Reveals
In a post dedicated to his mother on International Women's Day, Henry Cavill revealed a photo of him dressed in Superman pajamas as a child.

Henry Cavill began playing Superman in 2013’s Man Of Steel, and continued with the role in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and the theatrical cut of Justice League. But his recent Instagram post reveals the actor has been trying out the superhero costume since he was a child.

Cavill revealed a sweet message for his mother on International Women’s Day and accompanied it with an image of him as a young boy, clad in Superman pajamas. “Today is International Women’s Day and I’m dedicating this post to the most magnificent woman I know. My mum. An extraordinary, powerful, tough, intelligent, resilient, kind, thoughtful and caring person. That little boy on her lap learned an awful lot about what it is to be a good man from her,” he posted.

It seems the actor was destined to take over the baton for the film franchise. The film series was rebooted in 2013 with Man of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder with Cavill starring as Superman. The first time the world saw him as as Superman was ahead of the release of Man of Steel. It was a static image of him in the iconic suit and cape, standing in rubble with his hand pressed back on the vault door.

Cavill set to feature prominently – and in his iconic post-resurrection black suit – in Zack Snyder’s upcoming cut of Justice League on HBO Max. The upcoming Justice League plot will show Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlisting newfound ally Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) to face an even greater threat. Determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne aligns forces with Diana Prince with plans to recruit a team of meta-humans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions.

The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.
