Neena Gupta is a remarkable actress in Bollywood who has been getting much recognition and praise from the audience for her choice of scripts. The actress is known for her candid nature and straightforwardness which has won the hearts of millions. Her blunt attitude and coolness have made her relatable. However, Neena Gupta claimed that it was her Badhaai Ho co-star who told her not to be too honest.
Neena Gupta is busy promoting her upcoming show, 1000 Babies, which also stars Malayalam actor Rahman. The actress who was once in need of work is now working on projects of her choice. She stepped into the industry as a fearless woman, but with time, she learned a lot of things. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Neena Gupta recalled her decades-long career and said that honesty and truthfulness might not be a good policy.
When Siddharth Kannan asked her about her “bindaas attitude”, she said, “Honesty is a wrong policy. We have always been taught wrong.” She further added, “I have always been like this and whatever I saw or felt, I used to speak openly. I have had to bear the brunt of this. People do not like to hear the truth.” She confessed that it was Ayushmann Khurrana who gave her a big life lesson on the set of Badhaai Ho. The actor advised her to not always be honest. She said, “Ayushman once told me that don’t be so honest because people don’t like it. So I have learnt not to be so honest with other people.”
Now, keeping his golden words in mind, the actress shared that she has tried to change herself. She thinks that many times before saying anything, she prefers to remain silent if there is no urgent need for her to comment.
On the work front, Neena Gupta has starred in films like Shiv Shastri Balboa, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, Lust Stories 2, Ishq-e-Nadaan and Mast Mein Rehne Ka. She was last seen in Kaagaz 2.
