We are finally out with the list of winners for this year's IBNLive Movie Awards. 2014 has seen a myriad of themes on which filmmakers experimented. Some were successful in narrating fresh new stories, while some faltered. Our readers voted for their favourites in different categories; while some of their choices were predictable, there were the others whose results were refreshingly different. They made some remarkable films win in important categories.
Independent cinema, many a times, go unnoticed in spite of good content. Made on limited budgets, these films most often struggle to get a proper commercial release. 2014 saw some very talented filmamkers churning out brilliant films. One such was Nitin Kakkar's 'Filmistaan' which after winning a National Award in 2013 got a commercial release in 2014 and was loved for its story and performances by the actors.
The film got 41.5% votes from the readers. The second best in this category was 'Sulemani Keeda' which received 33.11% votes. 'Miss Lovely' fetched 16.34% of the votes while regional films 'Killa', 'Elizabeth Ekadashi' and 'Chotoder Chhobi' got 15% and 13% votes respectively.
