‘It Has Given Me Better Opportunities’: Rishab Shetty On Kantara’s Success

Rishab Shetty has propelled himself to national as well as global fame after the success of Kantara. He is considered as one of most promising names in South cinema, expected to take it to new heights of success. In a recent interview, the actor delved into the “success secret” of his blockbuster Kantara, and how it opened great new opportunities for him. Kantara became one of the biggest releases of 2022 in the country, upon its release. It received worldwide acclaim for its unique plot, actors’ performances and storytelling technique. At the centre of it all was Rishab Shetty. He recently spoke to the media on the film’s incredible success and its secret.

According to the actor-filmmaker, “Every success comes with responsibility, along with both positive and negative sides attached to it.” He added that life has stayed the same for him, but it cannot be denied that Kantara’s success definitely brought certain changes. He stated, “It has given me better opportunities to work, better space for creativity along with the time.” Mentioning the producers, Rishab stated that the success is a result of their support and belief in the project. The actor then declared, “While I ignore negatives, I choose only the positives from success.”

The star was then asked about his experience working on the highly anticipated prequel to Kantara, Kantara: Chapter 1. He said, “I had never worked on such a big scale. Also, I had not even worked as an AD.” He revealed that working on the story, screenplay and all the writing parts of the film have been very challenging. “The scale is big not just in terms of film but story wise and the character I am playing,” added the actor, who is also the prequel’s lead. Around six to seven schedules are expected for the project’s completion due to its massive scale, Rishab revealed further.
