A day after Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF constable at the Chandigarh airport, the actress-turned-politician has now revealed what exactly happened. On Friday morning, Kangana took to her Instagram stories and claimed that the CISF personnel came quietly from behind and attacked her in a “Khalistani style”.
Kangana Ranaut claimed that the CISF constable “strategically waited” for her to cross the security check and then came from behind to hit her face. “She strategically waited for me to cross her and in a signature Khalistani style quietly came from behind and hit my face without saying a word when I asked why she did that, she looked away and started (talking) to the phone cameras focused at her (can be seen in her videos) hogging sudden public attention, farmers laws have been repealed and they don’t concern anyone anymore,” Kangana wrote. The newly elected MP further hinted that the constable’s actions were politically motivated.
On Thursday evening, Kangana Ranaut also issued a video statement and assured everyone that she was safe. “Namastey dosto! I have been getting a lot of phone calls from the media and my well-wishers. I am safe, I am perfectly fine. What happened at the Chandigarh airport today was during the security check. When I left after the security check, the CISF personnel hit me on my face. She abused me. When I asked her why she did it, she told me that she supports farmers’ protests. I am safe but my concern is, how do we handle terror in Punjab?” she said.
For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut was travelling to New Delhi when she was slapped by an on-duty female CISF constable at the Chandigarh Airport. The female CISF staff identified as Kulwinder Kaur was unhappy with Kangna’s comment on Punjab ladies during the farmers’ agitation against the three farm laws, suggesting they participated in the protest for money. The lady constable was arrested later in the evening.
The shocking incident comes days after Kangana Ranaut defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes to win Mandi. After her victory, the actress also shared an Instagram post thanking the people from her constituency. “Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust… This victory belongs to all of you, this is the victory of your trust in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan and in the honour of Mandi,” she wrote.
