Karan Johar Celebrates 10 Years Of 2 States With A Super Nostalgic Video
Jointly produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, the film marked the first on-screen collaboration of Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor.

Director Abhishek Varman’s romantic film, 2 States starring Arjun Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ronit Roy, Amrita Singh, Revathi and Shiv Kumar Subramaniam in the lead roles completed 10 years. Based on the best-selling novel of Chetan Bhagat by the same name, the film has carved its place in hearts of movie buffs, all thanks to its amazing storyline, the romantic chemistry between the lead pair, the conflicts between two cultures, and the X-factor of the film, its music. Released in the year 2014, the film was a massive hit.

As the film clocked 10 years, producer Karan Johar took to Instagram stories and shared a video that he captioned, “10 years of 2 States…ONE LOVE. The most amazing journey filled with warmth…” The video featured a compilation of a few scenes from the film.

The film follows the life of Krish Malhotra (played by Arjun Kapoor), a Delhi-based Punjabi guy, who falls in love with a Tamil Brahmin Girl, Ananya (played by Alia) during their MBA course at IIM-Ahmedabad and how their love grows. Coming from two completely different cultures, both of them try to convince their parents in order to get married.

2 States is Arjun’s biggest box-office success till date and earned him a lot of praise. It grossed approximately Rs 175 crore worldwide. Jointly produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, the film marked the first on-screen collaboration of Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor. This film also received immense love from the audience for soul-stirring songs like Locha-e-ulfat, Mast Malang, Iski Uski, Offo, and Chandaniya.

KJo’s last directorial project was Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which starred Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles. The film received good responses from the audience. Arjun will be next seen in an untitled romantic-drama film co-starring Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. Alia, on the other hand, is all set to act in director Vasan Bala’s Jigra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
