Karan Johar was visibly missing from Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar. The filmmaker, who had attended the couple’s engagement last year, was expected to attend the star-studded bash. While Karan has not opened about his absence from the bash, a source has said that the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director was missing from the festivities because he fell ill just before his trip to Jamnagar.
An insider told India Today that Karan was not only going to attend the bash but also perform at the event with Manish Malhotra. However, a grapevine told the publication that Karan Johar ‘developed a bout of viral and throat ache at the last minute, due to which, he had to do a rain check.’
While Karan couldn’t attend the bash, he unveiled the pre-wedding video featuring Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant and an emotional Mukesh Ambani. In the video Karan shared on Instagram, Radhika was seen fighting back tears as she performed on the lines of Shava Shava from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum. Anant waited for her with bated breath while Mukesh Ambani broke down during the heartwarming moment.

Anant and Radhika held a three-day pre-wedding bash in Jamnagar on March 1, 2 and 3. Several other Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur were a part of the bash. Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are also attending the mega event.
