Karan Johar called out a user on X (formerly Twitter) who claimed he used Ozempic, a drug known for aiding fast weight loss. The user referenced Maheep Kapoor’s comments from Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, criticising people for using the drug and causing shortages for diabetic patients who genuinely need it. Karan Johar reacted to the post by sharing a screenshot of it on his Instagram stories, denying the accusation and simply saying that his weight loss was due to healthy eating. He also tagged Maheep, asking if she meant him when she mentioned the drug on the show.
The post read, “#Maheep rightly called out people for using #ozempic for fast weightloss and driving it out of stock for people with diabetes. Hope she calls out #karanjohar too, the producer of #FabulousLives #bollywoodwives (sic).”
Karan wrote, “Being healthy and eating well and reinventing the wheel of your own nutrition! Aur Ozempic ko Mile credit ??? And @maheepkapoor did you mean me???” Maheep reshared the post with a bunch of laughing emojis and Karan shot back, “You’re laughing? I’m offended.”

Ozempic is a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes by helping control blood sugar. It also causes weight loss because it slows down how fast your stomach empties and makes one feel fuller, so one eats less. While it’s not officially approved for weight loss, people have started using it for that purpose, and some have lost an average of 6 kg over several months. However, this trend has led to a shortage, making it harder for diabetic patients to get the drug.
Meanwhile, after two successful seasons, the Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives is going to be back with a third season. It is produced by Karan Johar.
