Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday And Bhumi Pednekar starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh was a big hit at the box office. Well, for a long time, the rumours were going on that the makers were planning for its sequel but nothing was made official. Recently, director Mudassar Aziz confirmed in a conversation with The Indian Express and also shared an update about the same.
Talking with The Indian Express, the director revealed that the sequel will be his next directorial project, with several aspects currently being finalized. “Since I am setting out to take that on as the next installment of the idea of Man Woman, and Her all over again, I can promise it will not be run of the mill,” said Mudassar Aziz. Without confirming the final cast, Aziz mentioned that he is currently working on the sequel, though he’s not ready to make any official announcements yet. He noted that while he enjoys creating sequels, he doesn’t focus on franchises. Reflecting on his previous work, he pointed out that even in sequels like Happy Phir Bhag Jaayegi, memorable characters from the first film remained central. Aziz concluded that decisions regarding the cast and official announcements will be made by the studio and producers.
Recently, Kartik has greenlit the sequel to the 2019 smash hit Pati Patni Aur Who. According to an insider familiar with the production, the screenplay for the sequel has been finalized, sparking high enthusiasm from Kartik as he gears up to revisit his character as the endearing small-town protagonist, “Kartik loved the script of PPAW 2 and, as soon as he gave his nod, the makers decided to get this one rolling soon. Knowing the actor’s tight schedule and several films lined up, the makers have secured his dates as soon as possible. Once Kartik wraps up shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, PPAW 2 will go on floors,” the source told Bollywood Hungama.
The 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh received immense love from audiences for its unconventional love narrative, with Kartik’s electrifying dance moves in the viral track ‘Dheeme Dheeme’ causing a frenzy online.
With the sequel being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra, and directed by Mudassar Aziz, the project is shaping up to be an exciting endeavor. While the ‘Woh’ character is yet to be confirmed for the sequel, Kartik’s successful track record in the comedy genre is undeniable. From hits like Pyaar Ka Punchnama (1 &2), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Luka Chuppi, to the upcoming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik has consistently proven himself as a box office magnet.
