Ajay Devgn’s highly anticipated biography drama film, Maidaan, has unveiled its trailer today at a spectacular event in Mumbai. The event was graced by the presence of the film’s cast and crew. The trailer has garnered positive feedback from viewers. Director Amit Sharma, present at the trailer launch, praised both Ajay Devgn and Boney Kapoor for their contributions to the film.
During the media interaction at the trailer launch, Amit stated, “Ajay sir is the best actor I’ve ever worked with.” He confessed to feeling nervous because he had previously seen Ajay in the role of Singham and wasn’t sure if he could convincingly portray the calm demeanour of Syed Abdul Rahim. The director admitted sharing his concerns with Ajay, but he was pleasantly surprised when Ajay seamlessly transitioned from his previous role as Singham to embody Syed Abdul Rahim in a matter of seconds.
Amit also expressed his gratitude towards producer Boney Kapoor for his unwavering support. He remarked, “If Boney Ji wasn’t with us, this film would’ve never been completed. The kind of resilience he has, hats off.”
Ajay Devgn has also shared the film’s trailer on his Instagram handle. In the trailer, Ajay Devgn’s character expresses his frustration about India’s untapped football potential. He decides to form a team, recruiting young men from the slums, and trains them to compete on the global stage. Alongside the trailer, Ajay wrote in the caption, “A team that carved its legacy with every step! A man who devoted his life to football. And one Maidaan where the whole world witnessed it all…Bringing the Golden Era of Indian Football to life!”

Maidaan draws inspiration from the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, the esteemed coach and manager of the Indian national football team. Apart from Ajay Devgn, the film also features Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, Nitanshi Goel, Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh, and more. The film is scheduled for a release in theaters on Eid 2024.
On the professional front, Ajay Devgn’s horror thriller film Shaitaan, co-starring R Madhavan and Jyotika, released today, March 8. The movie tells a timeless story of the eternal struggle between good and evil, where one family represents the essence of goodness while a single man embodies pure hatred.
