Getting offers in big films is considered the best thing for most actors and actresses. We also often hear news about actors and actresses rejecting offers. Many issues do not work out which leads to rejecting films. One such actress reportedly rejected a film which went on to become one of the biggest hits in the Bollywood film industry.

We are talking about the 2019 blockbuster hit film Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in leading roles. But do you know that Kiara Advani was not the first choice for the role of Preeti?

According to reports, the role was initially offered to the winner of Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar. Though earlier many people mentioned that this is a mere rumour, the actress confirmed this development in a recent interview with Zoom. She mentioned that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga approached her for the role of Preeti opposite Shahid Kapoor but she rejected it. She said, “I was offered the role opposite Shahid Kapoor in the film Kabir Singh, but had to turn it down due to some contractual obligations with the Miss World organisers. Kiara Advani then played the role.”

Manushi also mentioned that she wanted to play the role of Geetanjali Singh in the film Animal which was played by Rashmika Mandanna. She said, “I love Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Both Rashmika Mandanna’s role and Triptii Dimri’s role were really interesting. But I loved Rashmika’s character more because, in the world where men are fighting with each other, she stood strong.”

Manushi Chhillar will be next seen in her upcoming film Tehran, which is set to hit the theatres on July 19. The film is directed by Arun Gopalan. It features John Abraham and Madhurima Tuli.
