Pablo Escobar's ambition and ruthlessness made him one of the wealthiest and most powerful criminals of all time. Season 1 of Narcos took us through 10 magical episodes covering Pablo Escobar’s journey to becoming the King of Cocaine and season 2 showed us his dramatic downfall. While everyone knows the drug empire that he built there are many sides to his personality that are not talked about. Here are some of the faces of Pablo Escobar.

Pablo: the family man

No matter what he did you can’t deny that Pablo Escobar loved his family. He chose to speak to his wife when in hiding despite the risks and showered his kids with love and everything else money could buy. On one instance, when the Escobar family were in their Medellin mountainside safehouse, his daughter became hypothermic. To keep her warm, Pablo set crisp banknotes on fire.

Pablo: the businessman

Escobar made the Forbes' list of international billionaires for seven years straight, beginning in 1987 until 1993. In 1989, he was listed as the seventh richest man in the world.At first he was an innovative businessman with a vision who was invested in his business.

Pablo: the friend - Pablo was generous with friends who stayed true to him. Those he trusted went a long way ahead with him. Don Pablo was also known to play a number of practical jokes with his friends and sicarios.

Pablo: the drug lord

In his prime, Don Pablo controlled about 80 percent of the total cocaine supply in globally and brought in an estimated $420 million a week in revenue, easily making him one of the wealthiest drug lords in history.

Pablo:the philanthropist

Before Pablo went rogue he was known as Medellin’s Robin Hood. He used a lot of his money for humanitarian work like building up Barrio Pablo Escobar — a rent and tax-free, 450-red-brick-home neighbourhood to house Medellin’s impoverished. He also made various schools, churches and football fields for the community.
