South actress Nayanthara and her director-husband Vignesh Shivan are undeniably one of the ‘It’ couples in Tinsel Town. Recently, they attended the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2024 in Dubai. Several pictures and videos of the couple have attracted the attention of their fans. But a particular clip of the lovebirds, showcasing Vignesh’s gesture for his actress-wife, is receiving much love from their fans.
In a video shared by a South paparazzo page, Artistry Buzz, the director was seen clicking multiple pictures of Nayanthara with her fans at the event venue. After handing over the phone to the owner, the couple proceeds to pose on the red carpet. For the awards show, Nayanthara and Vignesh paired in black outfits. The actress wore a shimmery saree paired with a heavily embroidered blouse featuring feather detailing on the sleeves. She accentuated her look by opting for diamond earrings, a subtle glam and bun hairdo. Meanwhile, her husband looked dapper in a suit.
A while back, the official Instagram page of SIIMA 2024 posted a carousel featuring a romantic moment between Nayanthara and her husband on stage. The Jawan actress won the Best Actor for her performance in Annapoorani. In the first picture, the director is seen kissing his wife’s forehead while she is smiling ear-to-ear. The post was shared with the caption, “A true power couple! @nayanthara and @wikkiofficial celebrate a triumphant night as they both take home well-deserved awards at SIIMA, marking a memorable moment of recognition and achievement!”
SIIMA is a special place for Nayanthara and Vignesh, as they confirmed their relationship during the 2016 edition of the award ceremony. They had been dating since crossing paths while filming their 2015 Tamil-language romantic comedy Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. After almost seven years of courting, the duo took their relationship to another level by tying the knot on June 9, 2022. In October of the same year, the couple announced the birth of their twin children, Uyir and Ulagam, via surrogacy. Not long ago, Nayanthara shared an album on her Instagram account, offering a glimpse into her life with her husband and two children.
On the work front, Nayanthara was last seen in Annapoorani, which was released in theatres in December 2023. After its initial run, when it was released on Netflix, the film was accused of hurting Hindu sentiments and was eventually removed from the streaming platform after much backlash. At present, the lady superstar has Test, Mannangatti Since 1960, Thani Oruvan 2 and Dear Students in the pipeline, while Vignesh is busy shooting Love Insurance Kompany (LIK).
