Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara Chapter 1 is one of the much-anticipated films. Reportedly, the film is set to kick off its fourth shooting schedule this August. Pinkvilla has exclusively reported that the upcoming schedule will be action-packed. It is worth mentioning here that this year Rishab Shetty has won national awards for the film Kantara.
In an exclusive update, Pinkvilla mentioned that the makers of the film are set to begin the movie’s 4th scheduled shoot from August last week onwards. As per the sources, we have also learned that the upcoming shoot will include a massive action sequence, which will be done on a grand scale. As the film is inching closer to completion, it would be truly spectacular to see what Rishab Shetty has managed to cook up next with his hit franchise. The film is touted to be a prequel to the first installment and would likely follow the lore of the Panchurli Deiva, which is set in the Kadamba era. The movie, which also has Rishab as the director, brings back Ajaneesh Loknath as the music director, who mesmerized everyone with his work in the first film.
In 2023, Rishab Shetty announced that what the audiences saw was actually part 2 and therefore what will be released next will be Kantara’s prequel, titled ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year,” he had said.
Later, revealing some exciting details about the prequel, an insider shared ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ will revolve around the story of Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva. “The film draws the inspiration from ancient times and tells the story about the origin of Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva divinities and also throws light on their origin,” an insider said.
Rishab Shetty recently stirred controversy with recent remarks about Bollywood’s portrayal of India. In a viral interview with MetroSaga, Shetty voiced his frustration with Bollywood’s depiction of India at international film festivals. Speaking in Kannada, he stated, “Indian films, especially Bollywood, show India in a bad light. These art films are invited to global events and given a red carpet. My nation, my state, my language—my pride. Why not take it on a positive note globally, and that’s what I try to do.”
