Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently wrapped up shooting for the Indian spy-action TV series Citadel: Honey Bunny with Varun Dhawan. Despite their busy schedules, the two stars have now found time to begin another much-anticipated project, Rakt Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom, in Mumbai.
After a brief hiatus, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has returned to the set and has begun filming her next TV series, Rakt Bramhand, with Aditya Roy Kapur. Samantha recently took to social media to share her excitement about being back on set, posting an image featuring a passport-like book with her name on it, alongside a pencil, a luxury backpack, a coffee cup, and a sleep-inducing oil. She captioned it, “Never stop dreaming. Glad to be back on a film set after a while. #Raktbrahmand @d2r_films.”
Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the mastermind behind Tumbbad, and produced by Raj & DK of The Family Man fame under their D2R Films banner, the series has officially commenced production. The ensemble cast also includes Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi.
A report from Mid-Day provided further insights into the show. According to an insider, Rakt Bramhand is Raj & DK’s first foray into the action-fantasy genre, set in a fictional kingdom. While managing the production of The Family Man, the duo is also closely overseeing the development of Rakt Bramhand. “The sheer scale of the production is something they haven’t attempted before. We started shooting two weeks ago and are currently canning some elaborate action sequences at Bahubali Studio in Borivali,” the source revealed.
The team is scheduled for a short 10-day break soon, after which they will regroup in October. The majority of the filming will take place on the same set and in various parts of the city, with production continuing until February 2025. Earlier this year, Netflix announced Rakt Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom as its first-ever action-fantasy series.
