After the phenomenal success of Animal, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently working on his next film – Spirit. There is a lot of buzz about the film as the director has roped in Prabhas to play the lead role. The movie is still in the pre-production stage and not much is known about the project. However, in a latest media appearance, Vanga gave a major hint about the plot of Spirit.
Appearing at the pre-release event of the Telugu film Pottel, Sandeep Reddy Vanga opened up about Spirit. The director was asked to disclose an unknown fact about the film. Vanga took a chalkboard and wrote ‘Police Story’ with a chalk. The host of the event read it out aloud and the crowd erupted in cheers. Following this announcement, fans can expect to see Prabhas don a police uniform in Spirit. The video from the event is going viral on X (formerly known as Twitter).

In an earlier interview with Galatta Plus, Vanga revealed that Spirit would be shot on a budget of Rs 300 crore. The director was also confident that the film would rake in Rs 150 crore on Day 1 of its release. He said, “With Prabhas and my combination, along with satellite and digital rights, we can recover our budget there itself. If everything goes well with the teaser, trailer, and songs pre-release and whatever we do to grab the audience’s attention, the opening day would be Rs 150 crore. It’s a trade calculation.”
Vanga has directed just three films till now – Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal. These three films have gone on to be commercial successes. Spirit was announced in 2021 when T-Series shared the first poster of the film on its social media. The movie will mark the 25th film in Prabhas’ career. It will be bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar. Vanga has yet to announce the cast of the film.
