Sandeep Vanga Reacts To Kiran Rao's Animal Criticism, Drags Aamir Khan's Dil: 'Almost Rape Attempt Tak...'
In a recent interview, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was asked about critics, and he mentioned an interview by Kiran Rao.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal has been making headlines for several reasons ever since its release. Even though the film is doing well at the box office, it has been accused of glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity by many. In a recent interview, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was asked about critics, and he mentioned an interview by Kiran Rao. In the chat with Dainik Bhaskar, Sandeep indirectly addressed her criticism without naming her. He brought up her ex-husband Aamir Khan’s film Dil, where a character threatens another with rape, but the story depicts them eventually falling in love.

Sandeep said, “One of my ADs saw that article today and spoke to me. Main kehna chahunga uss aurat ko ke jaake Aamir Khan ko pucho ‘Khambe jaisi khadi hai, Ladki hai ya fuljari hai’ woh kya tha? Then come back to me. This is, matlab, is you remember Dil, almost rape attempt tak leke jaake usko ehsaas jatata hai ki isne galat kiya. Aur usko pyar ho jata hai. Yeh sab kya hai? (I would like to say to that woman, ‘Go ask Aamir Khan, ‘Is she like a pillar, a girl, or a firecracker?’ What was that?” Then come back to me. If you remember Dil, he almost takes the situation to an attempted rape, and it makes her realise that she was wrong. And she falls in love. What is all this?) I don’t know why they attack like that before checking the surroundings.”

Released on December 1, Animal revolves around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film shows Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gun down 200 people with machine gun.

What's your reaction?
