Showsha Reel Awards 2024: Made In Heaven 2 or Dahaad, Who Will Win Best Ensemble Cast OTT Trophy?
From Made in Heaven 2 to Jubilee and Dahaad, here are the nominations for the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024 for Best Ensemble (OTT) award.

News18 Showsha Reel Awards are back after a short hiatus, and they promise to be bigger, better and grander. This year, the awards will celebrate the growing bond between the world of over-the-top (OTT) platforms and the Hindi film industry, as we honour all achievers and stars on March 9 in Mumbai.

What makes a good show? It’s not only the direction and writing, but also the combined efforts of the cast that go on to determine whether it’ll be able to carve a place in the hearts of the audience. The News18 Showsha Reel Awards recognise such performances.

The nominations for the Best Ensemble Cast are:

Made in Heaven 2: Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur returned as our favourite wedding planners in this ethereal series. They were joined by Shashank Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Jim Sarbh and Kalki Koechlin. However, this season, the breakthrough performance was given by Mona Singh, supported by Vinay Pathak and Mihir Ahuja. The show also saw Neelam Kothari and Samir Soni returning to the world of fiction.

Mumbai Diaries 2: Konkona Sen Sharma’s name is synonymous with stellar acting prowess. Add to that, Mohit Raina seasoned craft and Mrunmayee Deshpande’s gripping screen presence, and we’ve got ourselves a hit show. The thriller show, based on the devastating floods of July 2005, also features OTT veteran Shreya Dhanwantary along with Tina Desai, Satyajeet Dubey, Ananya Ghosh and Mansi Hirani.

Jubilee: Jubilee features the rise and fall of Mumbai’s legendary film studio, Bombay Talkies, and the lives of those who built it. The drama series portrays the challenges in the lives of Bombay’s aspiring entertainers, played by Aparshakti Khurana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Prosenjit Joshi and Sidhant Gupta.

Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo: Dimple Kapadia’s stellar reminder of her honed skills brought great thrill back on screen. She was immensely supported by Radhika Madan, Isha Talwar and Angira Dhar. This female-led crime thriller was successful in grabbing the attention of the audience. While the female leads ran the show, Naseeruddin Shah, Vipin Sharma and Udit Arora also thoroughly entertained audiences.

Scoop: Karishma Tanna’s stellar performance as investigative journalist Jagruti Pathak in this Hansal Mehta directorial brought tears to everyone’s eyes. This would not have been possible without the performances of Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Deven Bhojan, who relentlessly supported Karishma and her character. Harman Baweja’s portrayal of the cop with shades of grey left everyone wanting to see more of him on screen.

Kohrra: Savinder Pal Vicky and Barun Sobti’s camaraderie on screen was a massive asset to the success of Kohrra. The thriller series saw the two men play cops investigating the murder of a wealthy man in Punjab. Savinder’s dynamic with Harleen Sethi and the performances of Rachel Shelley, Manish Chaudhari, Saurav Khurana and Ekavali Khanna glued the audiences to their screens.
