Sara Ali Khan, Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba is raking it in at the box office with startling figures. The film collected 26.50 crore nett on Tuesday which is one of the highest first Tuesday collections of all time, reports Box Office India.

Calling the film unstoppable, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh informed that collecting Rs. 28.19 crores on Tuesday, the film makes an entry into the 100 crore club. Giving away further details he tweeted, "#Simmba starts 2019 with a big bang... Runs riot at the BO on Day 5 [1 Jan 2019]... Is truly UNSTOPPABLE... Ranveer’s fourth film to cross ₹ 100 cr mark... Fri 20.72 cr, Sat 23.33 cr, Sun 31.06 cr, Mon 21.24 cr, Tue 28.19 cr. Total: ₹ 124.54 cr. India biz." (sic)

The film is doing exceptionally in the Mumbai circuit and nears 50 crore mark in 5 days. "While #Simmba is a massive success, it’s having a dream run in Mumbai circuit... Nears ₹ 50 cr mark in *5 days* in Mumbai circuit alone... An EXTRAORDINARY feat... Fri 7.77 cr... Sat 9.11 cr... Sun 12.13 cr... Mon 8.16 cr... Tue 9.48 cr... Total: ₹ 46.65 cr. Mumbai circuit biz," tweeted Taran.

The film, starring Ranveer as a corrupt cop and Sara Ali Khan as his love interest, opened to mixed reviews, but seems to have hit home with the masses. Growing from strength to strength, the film also has Sonu Sood and Ashutosh Rana in important roles

Co-produced by Shetty and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Simmba revolves around Sangram Bhalerao who becomes a crusader of women’s safety after a girl he treats as his younger sister gets raped.

Rating the film 2.5/5, News18’s Rajeev Masand wrote in his review, “Simmba, a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Temper, is ultimately one part Dabangg, one part Singham, and many parts frustrating old-fashioned 80s melodrama.”

“The best thing about the film is the conviction Ranveer Singh brings to it. He fills out the khaki uniform nicely, delivering both punches and punch lines with feeling. Even in the less satisfying second half, he breaks tense moments with an irreverence that’ll make you cheer,” he added.
