Singer Rimi Tomy lends a helping hand to landslide-ravaged Wayanad. Rimi Tommy donated Rs 5 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Rimi Tomy herself informed me about this through his social media account. Rimi also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
“Tribute to the brothers who have passed away from our midst. Thanks to all the rescuers who toiled day and night for them. I pray that there will not be more tragedies like this… May the victims survive as soon as possible,” the singer wrote on social media.
Other film stars have also contributed to the relief efforts in Wayanad. Many Malayalam actors also contributed to this fund like Mohanlal Rs 25 lakh, Tovino Thomas Rs 25 lakh, Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan together Rs 35 lakh, Fahadh Faasil Rs 25 lakh, Navya Nair Rs 1 lakh, Manju Warrier Rs 5 lakh, Pearly Mani-Sreenish Rs 5 lakh have contributed to the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
Other industry stars like Nayanthara Rs 20 lakh, Kamal Haasan Rs 25 lakh, Vikram Rs 20 lakh, Rashmika Mandana Rs 10 lakh, Suriya, Jyothika and Karthi Rs 50 lakh have also contributed to the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
Rimi Tomy is an Indian playback singer, Carnatic musician, television presenter and occasional actress. She started her career as a host of music shows on television and sang her first song Chingamasam Vannu Chernnal in the 2002 film Meesa Madhavan with co-singer Shanker Mahadevan.
She has hosted several television shows and has been a judge on many reality shows of different genres. She made her debut as an actress in the Aashiq Abu film 5 Sundarikal. Her first leading role was opposite Jayaram in the 2015 film Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare.
She has also acted in the song sequences of films like Balram Vs Tharadas, Kaaryasthan and 916. She has also acted in many commercials.
She started her career as a singer with the well-known troupe Angel Voice. During a show with Angel Voice, mimic artist, composer and lyricist Nadirshah noticed her and recommended her to director Lal Jose and Meesa Madhavan’s film composer Vidyasagar. From then on, her singing career took off.
