SS Rajamouli made a rare appearance on Friday evening in Mumbai. The filmmaker was snapped by the paparazzi as walked out of a cafe in the city. In a video that surfaced on social media, paparazzi were seen greeting Rajamouli when he also asked him to wait and pose for the cameras. However, the RRR director remained mum and simply waived at the shutterbugs.
Soon after the video of SS Rajamouli surfaced on social media, netizens reacted to it and praised the filmmaker for his simplicity. “He is so down to earth,” one of the users wrote.
While the reason for Rajamouli’s Mumbai visit is not known as of now, it is worth mentioning that he is currently busy with the pre-production of his much-awaited movies with Mahesh Babu, SSMB 29. The film has been making buzz online for a long time now. However, SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu have not yet revealed the title of their movie. They have also been tight-lipped about the film’s plot.
The RRR filmmaker was in Japan last month when he shed a little light on the film’s status and told fans, “We started my next film. We completed the writing, we are in the pre-production process…But we haven’t finished the casting yet. Only the main hero is locked, the protagonist of the film is locked. His name is Mahesh Babu, he is a Telugu actor (people hoot). Looks like many of you already know him. He is very handsome. Hopefully, we finish the film a little bit faster.”
Several unverified reports suggest that SSMB 29 will be India’s Indiana Jones. Reportedly, Mahesh Babu’s character in the film is inspired by Lord Hanuman. Even though it will be set in an African jungle, Mahesh’s character will possess traits similar to Lord Hanuman, who is renowned for his valour and determination while facing challenges in the jungles. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now.
Meanwhile, on Friday, a report by Hindustan Times claimed that Mahesh Babu is currently attending workshops to prepare for his role in SSMB 29. Not just this, the entertainment portal also claimed that the actor is likely to begin shooting for Rajamouli’s movie either in August or September this year.
“Rajamouli and producer KL Narayana recently met Mahesh in Dubai to discuss the film while he was vacationing there. The director is currently focused on the extensive pre-production a film of this scale requires. Mahesh is also attending workshops to get in the skin of the character and is dedicated to looking the part. Right now, the plan is to begin shooting in August or September,” a source cited by the entertainment portal said.
