Stree 2's Abhishek Banerjee REACTS To Poster's Similarity With Stranger Things: 'Hum Toh Actor Hain...'
Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead, Stree 2 hit theatres on August 15.

When the poster of Stree 2 was released, several social media users pointed out its striking similarities with the poster of the hit series Stranger Things 2. The colour scheme of both the posters looked very similar with the movie title spelled out in red. While the film continues to enjoy its success at the box office, Abhishek Banerjee has now finally reacted to the poster similarities.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Banerjee explained that he is an actor and therefore, he has no say in the poster designing or marketing of the film. “Pata nahi, I have no idea. Yeh marketing aur poster woh log kis tarah se sochte hain humein kya pata. Hum toh actor hain. Hamara toh kaam hai poster pe aana, banana thodi hai (Who knows what happened. I have no idea how the marketing team involved with poster design came up with these ideas. My job is to appear on those posters, not to make them),” he said.

Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi, Stree 2 hit theatres on August 15 and impressed audiences. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 sees Rajkummar and Shraddha reprise their roles from the original. The sequel continues the eerie tale in the town of Chanderi, now haunted by a new terror, Sarkata. The townspeople once again turn to Stree for salvation. The film also features several surprise cameos, including Varun Dhawan as Bhediya, who shares a special song with Shraddha Kapoor.

Stree 2 clashed at the box office with Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. Despite this, Stree 2 managed to gather audience’s attention. Produced by Maddock Films, the film has turned into an all-time blockbuster. After recording the biggest second weekend of all time, the film continued to perform exceptionally well, even on its third Monday, benefitting from the partial Janmashtami holiday. The movie added another Rs 18 crore to its collection on this day, bringing its total to an impressive Rs 403.50 crore net in India.
