Sushmita Sen has dismissed the rumours about her dating anyone at the moment. The actress is rumoured to be dating her ex-boyfriend, Rohman Shawl. In the debut episode of actress Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Sushmita revealed that she has actually been single for the past two years. She shared that while she has wonderful friends, she is not currently dating anyone.
“I have no man in my life. I’ve been single for a while. It has been almost two years since I have been single, to be precise since 2021… I am not in a relationship. I have some incredibly wonderful people in my life who are my friends and they are all just waiting for a moment for me to call them and say, ‘Look, I’m pulling the car out, get in the backseat. We’re driving to Goa’,” she said, as quoted by HT.
The former Miss Universe said that she’s taking a break from dating and enjoying it. She added, “I am not even interested in anyone at the moment. It is lovely to take a break because I was in a relationship for almost five years. And that was a long time”.
Rhea also teased Sushmita, saying, “Do you know there’s a bigger gold digger than you in the room?” Sushmita responded, “Oh really?” to which Rhea quipped, “Me.” Sushmita then sarcastically added, “Oh, you also?” and Rhea says, “I’m the biggest one.”
It’s perhaps a dig at the announcement of Sushmita Sen and Lalit Modi that created a viral stir online back in 2022. Some openly created memes, talking about the contrast in their looks and wealth. Others, more subtly, found humour in their unexpected pairing. The prevailing sentiment among social media critics was labeling Sen as a “gold-digger.” Sushmita Sen was criticized on social media for her relationship with Lalit Modi. Many concluded she was with him for his money, despite Sen’s own successful career and charity work.
