The recently released film Salaar: Part One- Ceasefire, which hit theatres on December 22, has been making significant waves, not only with stellar box office numbers but also with its impact on moviegoers. While Prabhas takes the forefront in garnering attention for the film, actress Sriya Reddy’s recent comments on a Mani Ratnam movie have caught the public’s eye.

In a recent interview, South actress Sriya Reddy expressed her confusion about the Tamil movie Ponniyin Selvan, stating that the film’s storyline appeared unclear to her. However, Reddy emphasised that this opinion was personal to her.

Media reports suggest that Sriya Reddy will be part of the sequel to Salaar, titled Salaar: Part 2 Shauryanga Parvam, as well as in OG and Aandava Kaanom.

Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, is an adaptation of the fiction novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film features an ensemble cast including Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Prakash Raj, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in pivotal roles.

Sriya Reddy’s comments come in the wake of Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda expressing his view that if he had produced Salaar or KGF, he would have provided a brief review of the films.

Ponniyin Selvan, with both of its parts being blockbusters, has collectively grossed over Rs 1,000 crore at the box office. On the other hand, Salaar continues to make records globally and is approaching the Rs 400 crore mark domestically. The action-packed drama earned Rs 15.50 crore on its eleventh day in Indian theatres. According to Salaar’s official Instagram post, the movie has surpassed Rs 600 crore in business worldwide and, is on track to surpass the Rs 700 crore mark globally.

In addition to Prabhas and Sriya Reddy, Salaar features Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in significant roles, solidifying its position as a successful and impactful film in the current cinematic landscape.
