This Actor, Seen In Munnabhai MBBS, Has Been Missing For 8 Years

Actor Vishal Thakkar made a brief appearance in the cult classic film, Munnabhai MBBS. He was also seen in the popular sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Did you know he has been missing for 8 years now? As per one Indian Express report, Vishal Thakkar left his house on 31 December 2015, to watch the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens at a theatre and hasn’t returned until this day. He had even asked his mother Durga to accompany him to the movie screening, but she didn’t oblige. Finally, at 10:30 PM, he borrowed Rs 500 from her mother and left their Mulund flat. Reportedly, at 1 am on January 1, 2016, Vishal Thakkar messaged his father Mahendra that he was going to a party and would come back in the morning. After that, he went untraceable and has continued to remain so for 8 years.

According to the police, Vishal Thakkar was last spotted by his girlfriend on Ghodbunder Road at 11.45 am on January 1, as he hailed an autorickshaw to Andheri for a shoot. His phone was switched off after that and no hospital record was reported of an unidentified man matching his description. Adding on to the troubles was his bank account too showing no activity since then.

Three months before this incident happened, Vishal was reportedly accused of rape by his girlfriend. A report on an English channel states that the girl had even lodged a complaint against the actor; but eventually, they had reconciled their differences and the complaint was withdrawn. According to the reports, Vishal Thakkar was said to be mentally disturbed due to no work, and his image was further tarnished due to the rape controversy. Constable Rajesh Pandey was deployed to solve this case as he had the reputation of having traced 800 missing people in Mumbai. He, however, failed to trace the man. Vishal Thakkar’s girlfriend was also found dead in her apartment due to a possible heart attack a few months later.

Vishal acted in films like Tango Charlie and Tum: A Dangerous Obsession. He last acted in the film My Father, Godfather, directed by Pankaj Dheer.
