Rajinikanth’s starrer Vettaiyan has been making headlines ever since the makers announced the film. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film hit the theatres on October 10 and is doing considerably well at the box office. One of the highlights of the film was undoubtedly the presence of Fahadh Faasil in a playful role.
It marked the maiden collaboration between both actors, where Rajinikanth played the role of a no-nonsense cop, Athiyan. On the other hand, Fahadh played the role of a thief-turned-police informant, Patrick. Vettaiyan is currently in its theatrical run and at this time the makers have released a deleted scene from the film.
The video was shared by Lyca Productions on their official X handle. The caption of the post read, “A dose of humour from the hunter! Enjoy this deleted scene between Athiyan and Patrick, a lighter side of VETTAIYAN you didn’t see on screen!” The clip features a playful banter between Athiyan and Patrick, wonderfully showcasing the brilliant chemistry of the actors. The film marks the first collaboration between the actors under the direction of TJ Gnanavel.

Earlier, the production company shared that the film collected Rs 240 crore in 4 days at the worldwide box office. Sharing the film’s poster, the producers wrote, “VETTAIYAN crosses 240+ crores worldwide and still counting! Thalaivar’s dominance knows no bounds. The hunt continues!” According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, it also crossed Rs 100 crore on the domestic market after collecting Rs 22.3 crore on the fourth day of its release.
Vettaiyan stars an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Rohini, Abhirami, and Dushara Vijayan. It also marks the on-screen collaboration of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after 32 long years. The duo earlier shared screen space in several films like Hum, Andhaa Kanoon and Geraftaar.
The film follows the story of a retired cop who fights against the system. The film has received positive reviews for its gritty story, electrifying performances and powerful music. Vettaiyan has music by Anirudh Ravichander, while the cinematography and editing are handled by SR Kathir and Philomin Raj.
