This Karthi-starrer Tamil Movie To Soon Have Its OTT Release

The film Meiyazhagan released on September 27, has already created a significant craze among the fans. Numerous news about its OTT release have been circulating on the news. Now the makers have decided to put an end to the anticipation of the fans. The film is all set to make its way to the world of OTT. This news has already created a significant buzz among the fans. Upon its release, Meiyazhagan received a mixed response at the box office.

The film will be streaming on OTT platform Netflix from October 25. Netflix India South shared this announcement on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle along with a poster. They captioned the post, “Our beloved Meiyazhagan is coming to meet us along with his brother, from his village. Is everyone ready to watch him? Meiyazhagan is coming to Netflix on 25th October in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi!”

Directed by C Prem Kumar, the film was reportedly made with a budget of Rs 35 crore. Meiyazhagan performed decently at the box office recording a worldwide box office collection of Rs 51 crore. Though the makers expected more significance at the box office the film was loved by the audience and critics.

Talking about the storyline, the film is set in the backdrop late 90s. A 40-year-old man named Arulmozhi Varman who is often called by the name Arul visits his ancestral home after 22 years. The home was already divided among his relatives. He visits the house to attend his cousin Bhuvana’s wedding. During his visit, he meets a mysterious relative who warmly welcomes him but remains unnamed. Their bond deepens as they share stories and memories, highlighting their family’s old rituals. As the story continues, he goes through an emotional journey of life.

The film features well-known faces like Karthi, Devadarshini Chetan, Arvind Swamy, Sri Divya, V Jayaprakash, Raj Kiran, Karunakaran and Raichal Rabecca in prominent roles. It is produced by Jyotika and Suriya.
