Actor Vijay Deverakonda is thrilled that the official Olympics Instagram page used a mashup of a song from his movie Geetha Govindam, which also starred his rumoured girlfriend, Rashmika Mandanna. He shared the video on his Instagram, expressing his happiness about the song’s enduring popularity. The Olympics’ official account posted the video, captioning it, “Who likes the Eiffel Tower’s new look? Paris is getting ready for next month’s Olympic Games.”

The video features the Eiffel Tower adorned with the Olympic rings, set to a mashup of “Inkem Inkem” from “Geetha Govindam” and Drake’s “Hotline Bling” playing in the background.

Fans took to the comments section to hail the idea. “We got olympics using a telugu song before GTA 6,” read one comment. Another read, “Olympics using geeta govindam song ? Wah !!” A third comment read, “Haha olympics targeting the biggest audience in the world.”

Geetha Govindam, a 2018 film directed by Parasuram Petla, stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. The film and its songs were hugely successful. Vijay later reunited with Parasuram for “The Family Star,” but it didn’t replicate the success of “Geetha Govindam.”

Recently, Vijay and Rashmika celebrated another of their film – the 2019 release Dear Comrade – achieving 400 million views on YouTube. Vijay’s next project is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, while Rashmika has several upcoming films, including “Pushpa 2,” “Sikandar,” “Kubera,” “Rainbow,” “The Girlfriend,” and “Chhava.”

Vijay Deverakonda recently shared a throwback photo with actress and his rumoured girlfriend Rashmika Mandanna from the sets of ‘Dear Comrade’ on his official Instagram account. He uploaded the pic to celebrate a huge milestone that their film achieved by scoring over 400 million views on YouTube. The film failed to perform at the box office, but found viewers on the online video sharing platform later.

Sharing the news with his fans, Vijay wrote, “400 million of you saw it. Dear Comrade – from the sadness we felt on the day of release in 2019 to the immense love we have for the film till today. Dear Comrade is a film I loved making, a story I loved telling.”
