Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar is currently a Mahaguru in the Kannada dance reality show, Dance Karnataka Dance. The show is hosted by Anushree while the judge panel consists of Chinni Prakash, Rakshita and Vijay Raghavendra. Shiva Rajkumar needs no introduction as the actor currently enjoys the status of a superstar in the Kannada film industry. In a career spanning over three decades, the actor has worked in over 125 films in Kannada.
He earned the nickname of Hattrick hero after his initial three films became commercially successful at the box office. He has appeared in several successful films like Ratha Sapthami, Anand, Manamecchida Hudugi, Samyuktha, Ranaranga, Aasegobba Meesegobba and others. Among many, one of the films which even Shiva Rajkumar admits has changed his life was Om. It was directed by Upendra and was released in 1995. The actor had a funny incident during the photoshoot of the film in the latest episode of Dance Karnataka Dance.
After the release of Anand, Shiva Rajkumar’s hairstyle became quite famous. He loved keeping long and soon it became a trend in the Kannada film industry. No director ventured to touch his hairstyle as he was quite possessive about it. However, this changed after director Upendra came into his life. In the latest episode of Dance Karnataka Dance, the actor shared that Upendra was the first director who touched his hair amid the photoshoot of Om. he narrated how he always loved his early from his college days. He called it cool.
The photo shoot of the film Om was planned on the first day at Shiva Rajkumar’s house. Shivrajkumar who came wearing very old clothes was getting ready for the photo shoot. As he was about to go for the shoot, director Upendra approached him and touched his hair to fix it accordingly. Shiva Rajkumar admitted that he became really angry at first but chose not to say anything. Director Upendratouched it a few times before Shiva Rajkumar was sent for the shoot.
Apart from Shiva Rajkumar, the film starred actress Prema, Srishanthi and actor Sadhu Kokila in the prominent role. This film has a Limca record for re-releasing more than 550 times. The film was reported to be the highest-screened film in the history of Kannada cinema. It was released 30 times in Kapali Theatre, Bangalore which is a record.
