Popular actress Kim Tae Hee has been officially confirmed to make a special appearance in the JTBC Saturday-Sunday drama Welcome to Samdalri. According to a statement provided to Edaily on December 20, the filming for her appearance concluded on the 18th of this month. The drama starring Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun is currently streaming on Netflix. This marks Kim Tae Hee’s return to television after her last project, tvN’s Hi Bye, Mama! in 2020, which garnered attention as her comeback work after a long hiatus of 5 years. Notably, Hi Bye, Mama! was written by Kwon Hye-joo, the same writer behind Welcome to Samdalri.
Having recently concluded her role in the ENA drama House with a Yard in June, Kim Tae Hee continues to make strategic career moves. With this unexpected good news, her fans and viewers of the popular drama are keen to know more about the role that Kim Tae Hee will portray in Welcome to Samdalri.

Kim Tae Hee, affiliated with BS Company in Korea, initiated her career in modeling and television commercials before stepping into the film industry with her debut in Last Present. Known for her roles in acclaimed Korean dramas such as Iris, Love Story in Harvard, My Princess, and her breakthrough as the antagonist in the popular SBS TV series Stairway to Heaven, Kim Tae Hee has earned widespread recognition.
In 1999, she moved to Seoul to attend Seoul National University, eventually assuming the role of president of the SNU Women’s Ski Club. Following her graduation in 2005 with a degree in fashion design, Kim Tae Hee made a career move from Namoo Actors to Lua Entertainment in January 2010. Currently, she is affiliated with Story J Company. The confirmation of her relationship with singer Rain came from her agency on January 2, 2013, culminating in their marriage on January 19, 2017.
Talking about the drama she will guest star in, Welcome to Samdalri narrates the tale of Samdal (portrayed by Shin Hye-sun), a dragon-like creature born near Hallasan Mountain, facing loss and returning to her hometown’s embrace alongside Yongpil (played by Ji Chang-wook). A story of choices and rediscovering love unfolds every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 PM.
