If reports are to be believed, Will Smith's upcoming song will come nearly 20 years after his last album, Lost and Found, in 2005.

Within just two years of his 10-year suspension from the Academy Awards, Hollywood star Will Smith is set to return to the stage with the upcoming BET Awards 2024. Well known for his remarkable performances in both films and music, the actor is set to take the stage for a special performance, anticipating a new music release. The BET Awards 2024 will be held on Sunday, June 30. However, details about his performance have been kept under wraps.

According to Variety, the actor is working on a new record at the moment, which might come as a surprise at the awards show. Smith has had a long history with the BET Awards. While Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith appeared as hosts in 2005, he is also a three-time BET winner for his films Ali, Hancock, and King Richard.

Speaking of the development, Connie Orlando, BET’s EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, confirmed the development in a statement. “From his start as a rapper to The Fresh Prince to being a box office king as one of the Bad Boys, Smith is truly a global icon, and we are honoured to welcome him back to grace the BET Awards stage. We look forward to Will adding to yet another defining night for the culture that is not to be missed,” the statement read.

If reports are to be believed, Will Smith’s upcoming song will come nearly 20 years after his last album, Lost and Found, in 2005. He did release a couple of singles and features, including Live It Up, Esta Rico, and Will. He recently partnered with Sean Paul for Light Em Up in the Bad Boys 4 soundtrack. His upcoming performance follows a stacked lineup that also includes Ice Spice, GloRilla, Ms. Lauryn Hill, YG Marley, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, and Tyla, among others.

On the movie front, Will Smith is back in theatres with his latest release, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, co-starring Martin Lawrence. The film has grossed over $140 million in the US and Canada. It was released on June 7.
