Zeenat Aman Reveals Getting Pregnant During 'Daku Hasina' Shoot: 'To Hide My Belly, The Crew...'
Zeenat Aman who loves to share anecdotes on her Instagram handle, shared yet another interesting story of getting pregnant during the shooting of the film.

Legendary actress Zeenat Aman has taken to Instagram with a nostalgic post about her film ‘Daku Hasina’, released in 1987 and directed by Ashok Rao. The movie featured Rakesh Roshan, with a memorable cameo by superstar Rajinikanth. In her post, Aman shared captivating photos from the film’s set, divulging an interesting behind-the-scenes story. She revealed that she discovered she was pregnant just as filming began. This unexpected twist prompted the crew to devise ingenious methods to conceal her baby bump throughout the shoot, adding a layer of creativity to the production.

One of the images depicted Zeenat in a movie scene portraying a female dacoit. Holding a large gun, she gazed directly towards the camera. In the accompanying caption, she initiated by delving into the plot and scribed, “Daku Hasina was your classic story of vengeance. Roopa, orphaned when her parents are killed by powerful village overlords, seeks the help of infamous dacoit Mangal Singh (The iconic Rajinikanth in one of his few Bollywood cameos) to extract revenge. Under his guidance, she transforms into the ruthless Daku Hasina, and so begins her reign of terror. The police scramble to apprehend her, but ah! There is a twist in the tale. What is the relationship between SP Ranjit Saxena (played by none other than @rakesh_roshan9 ) and the lady dacoit?”

Following that, Zeenat disclosed that she discovered she was pregnant during the filming period, and expressed, “This was one of the last films I did before my extended hiatus. I became pregnant early on in the shoot, and by the end of filming was well into my third trimester! My svelte figure had naturally ballooned, so to hide my belly the crew came up with various creative shots. Some of these involved me riding a horse, which brought its own concerns. I had had a scare on horseback during a previous shoot, when the poor animal had bolted because of the artificial rain and blaring speakers on set. I wasn’t nervous about my own safety, but the safety of the child in my womb was of utmost importance. Luckily, we were able to shoot these scenes without any incident.”

Zeenat further highlighted how the film resonated with the increasing consciousness and advocacy for feminist issues that were gaining momentum during that era. She unveiled an additional pair of movie posters featuring Rajinikanth.

Zeenat Aman is all set to star in Manish Malhotra’s directorial debut Bun Tikki. She will be seen sharing the screen space with Shabana Azmi. Zeenat and Shabana previously shared screen space in Ishk Ishk Ishk (1974) and Ashanti (1982). Bun Tikki also stars Abhay Deol. Manish shared a picture of these three actors on Instagram and provided details about the project.
