Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 80th birthday on October 11. The actor, who also hosts Kaun Banega Crorepati, was recently surprised on the set of the reality show by his wife Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan. Even Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter-in-law and actor Aishwarya Rai, and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan sent him birthday greetings via a video message.
A clip from the episode is going viral on social media. In the video, the mother-daughter duo called Amitabh, ‘pa (father)’ and ‘dadaji (grandfather)’ with folded hands and greeted him. They then went on to wish him on his birthday and asked for his blessings. In the video, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan can be seen getting emotional while listening to Aishwarya and Aaradhya’s birthday messages.

The veteran actor had no idea that his family were planning a surprise for his birthday, and he was seen getting emotional and holding back tears during the episode. Abhishek Bachchan also took to Instagram to share a video from Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, in which he and Jaya Bachchan surprised Amitabh Bachchan on his 80th birthday. The video showed Abhishek and the KBC 14 team preparing to surprise Big B. It also shows Jaya feeding Amitabh a sweet dish as they were seen on the hot seat together for the first time. Abhishek Bachchan also revealed that keeping Amitabh’s birthday surprise a secret from the actor during the KBC 14 special episode was quite a task. Furthermore, he claimed that despite the fact that his mother Jaya and he were prepared for the shoot at 6 am, they were unable to leave their rooms before Amitabh went to the KBC 14 set. The actor further revealed that they arrived at the set and hid until their name was called on the programme.
