‘Asli Mehnat Isko Bolte Hai’: Jackie Shroff Commends Construction Worker Battling Heavy Rain

Mumbai is grappling with heavy rainfall, leading to severe waterlogging in various parts of the city. Amidst the weather turmoil, veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff recently posted a compelling video on Instagram. The footage captures a construction worker, braving the intense winds and rain, and diligently continuing his work atop a bamboo scaffold. Despite the challenging conditions and the howling winds, the worker remains focused and resolute.

Jackie Shroff captioned the video with a heartfelt message, “Working through heavy winds and rains…Asli mehnat isko bolte hai, Bhidu…Love and Respect for them (This is what real hard work looks like, buddy…Love and Respect for them).”

Jackie Shroff is known for using his Instagram to spotlight various causes, including environmental conservation. He’s particularly recognised for carrying a plant to nearly every event he attends, aiming to promote tree planting and raise awareness about pollution.

Recently, actor Anupam Kher shared a video of himself and Shroff where they both can be seen enjoying the beauty of nature at Shroff’s property. In the video, Anupam Kher reminisces about Shroff’s early struggles and how his life has changed over the years. He recalled Shroff’s journey from living in a chawl in the Teen Batti area of Mumbai to owning a beautiful property, which he described as “jannat.”

“Mera dost Teen Batti me rehta tha, aaj pragati ki is waadi me (My friend used to live in Teen Batti and now resides in this space),” Anupam Kher said.

To this, Jackie Shroff responded that he fondly remembers his earlier home, noting that even that was once surrounded by greenery which has now been overtaken by urban development. “Thode din me yahan bhi dikhega (In some days, this place will also turn into that),” he said.

On the professional front, Jackie Shroff has two exciting projects lined up. He will appear in Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, alongside a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor. Additionally, Shroff will feature in Baby John, an action drama directed by Kalees, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. This film is a remake of Atlee’s Tamil hit Theri (2016).
