Following up on a stellar bowling performance against Australia in the 2nd ODI, where she clinched a fantastic fifer that eventually went in vain, Deepti Sharma’s run of record-breaking form continued in the 3rd ODI as she became the fourth Indian woman bowler to reach the milestone of 100 ODI wickets.
Deepti reached the milestone in her 86th match, joining Nooshin Al Khadeer, Neetu David and Jhulan Goswami in the 100-wicket club.
Deepti bowled the most economical spell so far as the Indians struggled to break up the mammoth partnership that openers Phoebe Litchfield and skipper Alyssa Healy were building.

After the breakthrough came from a stellar delivery from Pooja Vastrakar, which sent skipper Healy back to the pavilion, India finally began to make inroads through the Australian batting lineup, as they picked up three more wickets in quick succession.
But, opener Litchfield stayed put as she smacked the ball all over the field at will, notching up a sensational century — her 2nd ODI century — and remained in total control, until Deepti struck.
Phoebe Litchfield, born in 2003, playing her first ODI series in Asia and has completely dominated India in the series ⭐78(89) in the first ODI.63(98) in the second ODI.119(125) in the third ODI.

In the 40th over, Deepti bowled a tempter outside the off stump, tossing one up in the air for Litchfield to swipe. Phoebe took the bait and went for a big slog, only for her to mistime and edge it high into the air, leading to a simple catch for skipper Harmanpreet Kaur at cover.
Litchfield left the crease after scoring a sensational 119 runs off 125 balls, which consisted of 16 fours and a six. This was also Litchfield’s highest ODI score till date, as she ensured that the Aussies take the fight to the Indians in the final ODI.
Deepti Sharma ended her spell with figures of 10-0-53-1 as Australia continues to bat through the last five overs in their hunt to set a mammoth target.
