Ira Khan Wedding: Nupur Shikhare Ditches Traditional Baraat, Jogs 8 km to Marriage Venue

Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare are getting married in Mumbai today. The couple got engaged in September last year in Italy. Two months later, they hosted an intimate engagement party that was attended by family and close friends, including Imran Khan, Aamir’s ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao and actor Fatima Sana Shaikh. Ahead of the wedding, the groom-to-be was seen jogging to the venue.

Instead of opting for the conventional horseback or a flower-decorated car, Aamir Khan’s would-be son-in-law reportedly chose to jog with his friends to Taj Lands End, the wedding venue. He was seen navigating through heavy traffic in a vest and shorts, as the paparazzi followed him. The video is now going viral on the internet. His friends even put together a few, fun placards that they held up on the way. Check it out here:

The groom-to-be also shook a leg to the beats of dhol outside the venue with his family and friends.

Ahead of the wedding, pre-wedding festivities were recently kicked off in Mumbai, with one being hosted at Aamir Khan’s good friend, actor Salman Khan’s residence. We have also learnt that Aamir has personally been making calls to his friends and peers in B-town to grace the wedding and bless the couple. “Most actors aren’t in town due to the holiday season. But be assured that it’s going to be a star-studded affair. Those who won’t be able to make it to their big day will be a part of the reception in Jaipur,” added a source close to News18.

Nupur, a fitness coach, is known for his role in the fitness transformations of Aamir Khan and Sushmita Sen. The couple first crossed paths during the Covid-19 lockdown when Nupur was guiding Aamir’s fitness journey, and Ira, his daughter, was staying with her father.
