‘Let People Be Curious’: Tanishaa Mukerji On Her Marriage Plans
Tanishaa Mukerji's relationship with Indian actor Armaan Kohli once grabbed headlines, but after nearly a year of dating, the couple called it off.

Tanishaa Mukerji, who has showcased her talent across various genres including Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, has been in the spotlight for her rumoured romance with an Indian actor, whom she met during a reality television show. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, she not only discussed her upcoming projects but also hinted at the possibility of tying the knot in the near future.

Tanishaa Mukerji’s relationship with Indian actor Armaan Kohli once grabbed headlines, but after nearly a year of dating, the couple called it off. When questioned about her personal life and thoughts on marriage, Mukerji chose to take a diplomatic approach. “Let people be curious, they have every right to be, and I have every right to be private,” she said during the interview.

The actor further added, “I think marriage is a wonderful institution for people who understand it and find the right people, it’s beautiful. As for me, I am always proposing and God is always disposing. Everybody wants to find that special someone to grow old with.”

Mukerji emphasised that regardless of the film industry she works in, the common thread is the passion and collaboration with creative individuals.”The similarity in all of them is that when you work with passion alongside creative people, distinctions fade away,” she observed.

She further remarked, “There is professionalism, creativity, and passion. However, when projects are driven solely by financial motives and commercialism, it’s disheartening. It lacks sincerity and genuine investment.”

In the interview, Mukerji also unveiled details about her next venture, disclosing her debut in the Marathi film industry with ‘Veer Murarbaji’. Discussing Marathi cinema, Mukherji remarked, “In Marathi cinema, there’s a strong emphasis on accuracy and authenticity in projects. They are deeply rooted in literature, and their audience expects nothing less.” Contrasting Hindi cinema with Marathi, she noted, “Hindi cinema often prioritises entertainment over in-depth research and factual accuracy. However, there’s a shift happening, and it ultimately depends on the type of cinema one chooses to create.”

Sharing insights from her different experiences in regional cinemas, Mukerji highlights, “It’s fascinating—I found a commonality between Marathi and Telugu, both using the word ‘akka’. And in my Tamil project, the scriptwriter patiently guided me through the intricacies, which was incredibly helpful.”

Tanishaa Mukerji made her acting debut with Sssshhh… in 2003 followed by her first success in Sarkaar in 2005. She made her television debut with reality show Bigg Boss 7 in 2013, securing the position of first runner-up.
