A common nationwide exam called the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is used to evaluate applicants for postgraduate management programmes (MBAs) provided by business institutions. MAT was recognised as a nationwide exam by the Indian government in 2003. More than 600 business schools across India recognise MAT results.

There are three test formats used for MAT 2024: computer-based (CBT), paper-based (PBT), and remote proctored internet-based (IBT). The MAT Internet-Based Test (IBT) requires candidates to have a working internet connection in order to be taken. The students will be monitored remotely using a live video and audio stream. AIMA will also monitor the screens of the applicants. They will be monitored in real-time by webcam and microphone. Once the test is over, AIMA will review the images and videos that it took while recording the live feed.
