A cab driver has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old girl in New Delhi. As per the police, the accused has been identified as Vicky and he was the former cab driver of the girl.
The complainant, the victim’s father told Delhi police that he had dropped his daughter outside the school gates but he was later informed that the girl had not reached her school.
On being asked, the girl told the police that the accused forcibly took her in his cab and even slapped her.
“He suspected a former school cab driver Vicky Singh (32) and called him immediately to know the whereabouts of his daughter. The matter was informed to the police and an investigation was taken up,” a senior police officer.
On enquiry, the victim revealed that Vicky took her forcibly in his car from the school gate and also slapped her. Vicky’s location was later traced and he was arrested, police said.
The medical examination of the victim has been done and further investigation into the matter is underway, police said.
About the search operation, the police said that the accused was caught through technical surveillance.
An FIR has been registered against the accused under sections 363, 354 D, 323 and section 12 of the POCSO Act.
