Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that a consensus has been built on New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit Declaration and urged world leaders to adopt the leadership declaration.

“I have received good news. Due to the hard work of our team, consensus has been built on New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit Declaration. My proposal is to adopt this leadership declaration. I announce the adoption of this declaration. On this occasion, I congratulate my Sherpa, ministers, who worked hard for it and made it possible,” PM Modi said at the beginning of the second session of the 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit in New Delhi.

Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa of India, also took to social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce that the New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration has been officially adopted at G20 India Leaders’ Summit. “Today’s era must be marked as the golden age of human-centric globalisation and India’s G20 Presidency under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi has worked tirelessly towards this goal,” Kant said.

What Does the New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration Focus On?

Amitabh Kant took to social media site X and explained that the New Delhi Leaders Declaration focuses on – strong, sustainable, balanced, and inclusive growth, accelerating progress on #SDGs, green development pact for a sustainable future, multilateral institutions for the 21st century, and reinvigorating multilateralism.

Kant also pointed out that the summit declaration witnessed a hundred per cent consensus on all developmental and geo-political issues. “The new geopolitical paras are a powerful call for Planet, People, Peace and Prosperity in today’s world,” Kant said.

Kant also said that it demonstrates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in today’s world.

Most Ambitious Presidency

India’s G20 Presidency was the most ambitious in history of G20, government officials said. They said that 73 outcomes (lines of effort) and 39 annexed documents were adopted in the course of the past year.

“With 112 outcomes and presidency documents, we have more than doubled the substantive work from previous presidencies,” the officials mentioned above said.

They pointed out that the outcomes and annexed documents were two to five times higher as compared to previous presidencies.

Later, Amitabh Kant, in a social media post, also said that the Indian Presidency of the G20 has been the most ambitious and action oriented in all of G20 Presidencies.
