iPhone users who use Google Chrome now have the ability to relocate the Chrome address bar to the bottom of their device’s screen. This change aligns with a design adjustment made by Apple in Safari last year.
Early signs of the feature were spotted in a beta version of the browser this year, but now it is getting a wide release. According to a report from MacRumors, in Chrome for iOS, users can customize the placement of the URL bar, whether at the top or bottom of the interface, depending on where the user prefers it to be.
The US-based tech giant Google has implemented this feature due to consistent requests from Chrome users.
Here Is How To Move Google Chrome URL Bar To Bottom
– To move the Chrome address bar to the bottom, users can perform a long press on it and select the “Move address bar to the bottom” option.
– Users can also navigate to the Settings menu and choose “address bar” to change the bar’s position.
Google is officially adding the option a couple of years after Apple introduced a similar feature in its own Safari browser in iOS 15.
Meanwhile, Google also rolled out new accessibility features and updates on Maps, Search and Chrome to help people accomplish daily tasks faster and easier.
A new identity attribute for the disability community is now available on Google Maps and Search, giving customers more details about a business and providing merchants an option to self-identify as a member of the community.
Lens in Maps (formerly known as Search with Live View) uses AI and augmented reality to help people use their phone’s camera to orient themselves in an unfamiliar neighbourhood and discover new places.
To make this more accessible and useful for people who are blind or low-vision, screen reader capabilities in Lens in Maps will be coming to iOS starting Tuesday, and to Android later this year.
