The online registration process for admission to class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) for the academic year 2021-2022 will commence from April 1. Registrations for Class 2 and above will be done from April 8 in offline mode, the ministry of education informed in an official statement.
For class 1, online registrations will begin at 10 am on April 1 and will close at 7 on April 19. Registration for Class 2 and above will be invited on the basis of availability of seats from April 8, 8:00 am to April 15 till 4:00 pm. For class 1, the admission process will be held online and for classes 2 onwards it will be held in offline mode.
For online admissions, parents can download the application, ‘KVS online admission’ from the Google play store. For class 11, registration forms can be downloaded from the Vidyalaya website – kvsangathan.nic.in.
For admissions, the age will be considered as of March 31. A child must be five years old as on March 31 to be eligible for admission to class 1. The upper age is capped at 7 years. For class 2 the upper age is 8 years and class for 9 it is 11 years and so till 16 years for class 12. The maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years in the case of differently-abled children by the principal. Further, there is no age restriction for admission to Class 11 provided the student is seeking admission in the year of passing the class 10 examination. Similarly, there will be no upper & lower age limit for admission to class 12 provided there has been no break in the continuous study of the student after passing class 11.
Currently, there are a total of 1247 Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.
