Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu called him on Tuesday and provided an update on the ongoing situation in Israel which is under attack from the Hamas terrorist group.

During their conversation, PM Netanyahu reassured PM Modi about the safety and security of Indian citizens in Israel.
“I thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” PM Modi posted on social media site X (formerly Twitter).
This is the second time Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the terrorist attack on Israel. PM Modi on Saturday said: “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour,” PM Modi said on October 7, on the same day Hamas launched a multi-pronged offensive against Israel, targeting civilians.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Tuesday said that they have regained control of the border with Gaza. The IDF spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said there were no fresh reports of incursion. Engineers have been deployed in parts where the fence has been destroyed.
The Israeli ambassador to India Naor Gilon thanked PM Modi and Indians for their continued support to Israel. Thank you again PM Narendra Modi. Since we get SO MUCH support from our Indian brothers and sisters, I’m unfortunately unable to thank each and every one of you personally. Please accept this as my gratitude to all our friends,” Gilon said.
Israel is targeting locations inside the Gaza Strip and said bodies of 1,500 Islamist terrorists were found in the southern towns recaptured by the army near Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Israel’s military campaign following Saturday’s surprise mass onslaught was only the start of a sustained war to destroy Hamas and “change the Middle East”.
