Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated the BJP leaders named in the party’s first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. The Prime Minister further expressed his confidence in the victory of the saffron party in the coming elections, scheduled to take place in the coming months.
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “I congratulate all those who have been nominated as our Party’s candidates and wish them the very best. We are going to the people on the basis of our track record of good governance and ensuring the fruits of progress reach the poorest of the poor.”
“I am sure that the 140 crore people of India will bless us yet again and give us even more strength in fulfilling their aspirations and creating a Viksit Bharat,” he added.

PM Modi to Fight From Varanasi For the 3rd Time
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi, the BJP announced on Saturday. The party announced its first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming polls.
This is the third time PM Modi will be contesting from Varanasi. In 2014, he defeated AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and registered victory by a massive margin. In 2019, he won against Samajwadi Party’s Shalini Yadav.
“In 2014, I went to Kashi with a commitment to fulfil people’s dreams and empower the poorest of the poor. Over the last ten years, we have made significant progress across various sectors and worked towards a better Kashi,” PM Modi tweeted, adding, “These efforts will continue with even greater vigour. I would also like to convey a special gratitude to the people of Kashi for their blessings, which I cherish greatly.”

BJP Releases First List
As per the list announced on Saturday, BJP fielded Union Home Minister Amit Shah from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar once again and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will fight from his seat — Lucknow, in Uttar Pradesh. A total of 34 Union Ministers have been included in the list. Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani is the BJP’s pick from Amethi, an erstwhile Congress stronghold.
Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of former foreign minister Sushma Swaraj, has been given the New Delhi seat, while former Assam Chief Minsiter Sarbananda Sonowal will fight from the eastern state’s Dibrugarh seat.
Reacting on her candidature from New Delhi seat, Bansuri while talking to reporters said, “I feel grateful. I express gratitude towards PM Modi, HM Amit Shah ji, JP Nadda ji and every BJP worker for giving me this opportunity. With the resolution of ‘ab ki baar 400 paar’, every BJP worker will work to make Narendra Modi the ‘PradhanSewak’ for the third time.”
On being fielded from Bilaspur constituency, BJP leader Tokhan Sahu said, “I want to thank the central and state leadership… The whole country has faith in PM Modi. Only Narendra Modi can take this country forward. The government has worked in every sector. On PM Modi government can fulfill the aspirations of the country…”
