Students in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) are protesting against the government and army over various atrocities, sources told CNN-News18 on Tuesday.

There have also been protests against rising electricity bills, as well as fuel and flour prices in PoK, they added. These demonstrations have been going on continuously for some time, the sources said.

Earlier, women in the region also protested against the Pakistan army over the issues of unemployment, shortage of essential goods, and extremist groups freely roaming there, they said.

The locals have been asking the Pakistan government and authorities to leave PoK as soon as possible as these are their natural resources, the sources said.

CNN-News18 earlier reported that many people of PoK want it to be merged with India.
