Previously, Kohli had bowled only three balls against Bangladesh, completing Hardik Pandya’s over when the all-rounder injured himself. Owing to Hardik’s absence, Rohit Sharma and Co. didn’t have the luxury of a fifth bowler, thus the Indian skipper turned to Virat.

After conceding 7 runs in his first over, the 35-year-old managed to break a crucial stand between Edwards and Sybrand Engelbrecht, when he got the Dutch captain to give away a nick to Rahul.

It was a treat for the crowd in Bengaluru who were earlier chanting ‘Kohli ko bowling do’ as Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav also rolled their arms after Virat.

Earlier, Virat Kohli had smashed a fifty, along with half-centuries from Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer as well as Rahul hit hundreds to fire India to a score of 410/4.
