After exiting the ICC ODI World Cup in India at the league stage itself, the Pakistan cricket team was given a warm reception after reaching home.
Their elimination from the semi-finals was confirmed after enduring a 93-run defeat at the hands of England in their final league game.
A day after wrapping up his last assignment of the competition, Pakistan captain Babar Azam took the return flight to his home country. Members of the Pakistani squad were slated to travel in two batches via Dubai.
While one group boarded the plane on Sunday morning, the remaining players would left for Pakistan in the evening.
Upon his arrival at the Karachi Airport, Babar received a warm welcome from a number of fans, who were waiting in the lobby to greet the cricketer.

A video of the moment was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a Pakistani fan.
The caption of the post read, “Warm welcome for King Babar Azam at the airport.”
In the viral clip, Babar, surrounded by security personnel, was spotted making his way out of the Karachi airport.
When he stepped out of the exit gate, a fan was heard shouting, “King Babar, I love you. Welcome back.”
Questions have been raised regarding Babar’s white-ball captaincy on the back of Pakistan’s disastrous performance in the ODI World Cup.
Pakistan began their tournament on a promising note before going off the track.
In their 9 league matches, Pakistan managed victories on four occasions and lost the remaining games. They fell slightly short of qualifying for the knockout stage, finishing fifth in the points table.
Keeping aside his leadership responsibility, Babar also failed to showcase his A-game with the bat. He played in all 9 games and managed to accumulate only 320 runs at 40.
Pakistan were left with an improbable task to beat England by a massive margin in the last match.
The defending champions batted first and posted 337 runs on the board. It was nothing but an impossible assignment for Pakistan, who were required to chase down the mammoth target in three overs to qualify for the semi-finals.
Pakistan ultimately folded for 244 runs, losing all wickets by 43.3 overs.
