Irfan Pathan is back with his viral dance moves after Afghanistan recorded their fourth win in the ODI World Cup 2023. Pathan, whose dance video with Rashid Khan caused a massive frenzy after Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets, put on his dancing shoes with Harbhajan Singh in company as Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka recently.
Hashmatullah Shahidi and Co. defeated the Netherlands by 7 wickets in Lucknow and Pathan shared a video of himself dancing at his home. The victory ensured that Afghanistan remained alive in the race for the semifinals as they leapfrogged Pakistan into fifth place on the World Cup points table.
The former Indian pacer turned commentator lavished praise on the Afghanistan team saying that earlier, their bowling was the biggest talking point, but now the batsmen have also started to dominate the proceedings.

“The Afghan team’s performance in this World Cup has shifted the conversation from their bowling to their remarkable batting. Kudos to them for their consistent displays,” wrote Pathan on Instagram as he shared a video of him dancing at his house.

Afghanistan dished out a clinical display against the Dutch, with a lethal bowling performance restricting the Netherlands to a below-par total of 179 runs in the first innings.
In the chase, Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz failed to leave an impact but skipper Shahidi and Rahmat Shah smashed their respective fifties to take their side over the line.

Shahidi returned unbeaten at 56 while Rahmat was dismissed on 52, but Mohammad Nabi won the Player of the Match award owing to his three-wicket spell during which he gave away just 38 runs.
Afghanistan have two matches remaining against fellow top-four hopefuls South Africa and Australia, and they will have to cause two more upsets to confirm their place in the semifinals. Even one win could take them to the semifinals, but then the equation will boil down to Net Run Rate, and whether other teams in contention, such as the likes of Australia, New Zealand and others drop points in their remaining games.
