The Indian cricket team gifted DDCA dressing room attendant Vinod Kumar a signed jersey from the whole team after the ODI World Cup match against Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium. India registered their second win on a row in the World Cup by outclassing Afghanistan on Wednesday. After the match, India made a heartfelt gesture towards dressing room attendant Vinod who worked for about 40 years. It was his last day at the office and India decided to make it memorable.
Head coach Rahul acknowledged his efforts and asked senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to present him with the signed jersey.
“Vinod Kumar or Vinodji as he’s fondly called at DDCA, was given a signed jersey by #TeamIndia for his service as dressing room attendant for 40 years. The little things that matter #CWC23,” the BCCI captioned the video.

After receiving the jersey, Vinod thanked the Indian team and shook hands with everyone from the camp to acknowledge their heartfelt gesture.
Meanwhile, after the win over Afghanistan, skipper Rohit urged the team to keep focus on things which are controllable.
The hosts reached the second spot in the points table after achieving the victory target of 273 with 15 overs to spare.
“(It) was a good win for us, very important to get that momentum at the start of the tournament,” Rohit said during the post-match presentation.
“For us it is crucial that we don’t worry about external factors and just look at things we can control. We just need to show up and do well,” Rohit said while talking about India’s clash against Pakistan on Saturday in Ahmedabad.
“Things like what the pitch is like, what combo we can play is what we can control. What happens outside we won’t be worried about it. It is just about focusing on what we can do as players and how we can perform,” the India captain added.
